Readers in Bloom

Evidence-based literacy support helping primary-aged children blossom into confident readers, capable writers and curious learners.

Child Reading Book

Is your child struggling with reading, spelling or writing? Perhaps they are finding school increasingly difficult, losing confidence or needing more support than they are currently receiving.

At Readers in Bloom, I believe every child can learn and thrive with the right support. I provide personalised, evidence-based literacy instruction for primary-aged children with learning difficulties, including dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADHD. I also support children without a formal diagnosis who are experiencing difficulties with reading, writing and spelling.

Through explicit, structured and multisensory teaching, I help children develop strong foundational literacy skills, build confidence and discover a love of learning.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to bloom.

Who I help?

Readers in Bloom provides literacy support for primary-aged children who:

  • Have dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD or other learning difficulties.

  • Are making limited progress despite support at school.

  • Find reading and writing tiring or frustrating.

  • Avoid or become reluctant to engage with reading, writing or schoolwork.

  • Lack confidence in their literacy abilities

Classroom Study Scene

If this sounds like your child, you are not alone. With the right support and instruction, your child can build their literacy skills, confidence and enjoyment of learning.

Why Readers in Bloom?

This is not your average tutoring service. This is specialised literacy intervention designed to address the root causes of reading and writing difficulties.

Evidence-based

Lessons are structured around the Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) approach,

informed by research into how the brain learns to read and spell.

Explicit and structured

Skills are taught clearly and systematically.

Multisensory

Children engage with learning through seeing, hearing, saying and doing.

Individualised

Teaching is guided by your child’s strengths and areas for development. Progress is continuously monitored, allowing instruction to be adjusted as your child’s needs evolve.

Confidence-building

Progress is celebrated and lessons are carefully designed to ensure students experience consistent success.

What Parents Think

We can’t recommend Tara highly enough. Cohen has dyslexia and ADHD and when he first started working with Tara, was a little behind others in his year level and needed some additional support with his literacy skills.

During his time with Tara, we saw really solid improvements in his reading and spelling, which helped him bridge the gap and just as importantly, build his confidence.

Tara was incredibly patient, encouraging and understanding of Cohen’s individual learning needs. She took the time to work out how he learned best and made his lessons positive and engaging.

Cohen genuinely enjoyed working with Tara and we are extremely grateful for the difference she made. We would happily recommend her to any family, particularly those looking for someone who understands and supports children with different learning needs.

Chris

We are beyond grateful that Tara took on Sage in Prep, right in the middle of us figuring out her hearing issues and speech challenges. It was heartbreaking watching Sage lose her confidence at school, but after two terms with Tara, her confidence has absolutely skyrocketed.

Tara is incredibly kind, patient and supportive, and Sage genuinely looks forward to seeing her every Monday. The biggest change for us has been seeing Sage enjoy learning and school again.

We couldn't be more grateful for everything Tara has done for Sage and the confidence she has helped her find.

Zoe

I cannot speak highly enough of the support and guidance Tara provided to my son throughout Years 5 and 6 as he navigated the challenges of dyslexia.

Tara's patience, expertise and genuine care made a significant difference to both his learning and confidence. She took the time to understand his individual needs and tailored her approach to help him develop the skills and strategies required to help with his dyslexia. What stood out most was Tara's ability to encourage and motivate him.  He looked forward to his time with Tara, and felt safe in the environment that Tara created.
